“In winter, when the green earth is sleeping beneath a blanket of snow, this is the time for storytelling.” Spend an evening embracing the wildness of winter with spine-tingling music and spell-binding wintery tales.
Tatie Pot are a collective of Cumbrian singers, musicians and storytellers who weave magical narratives through stories and songs, inspired by the traditions of the British Isles, and the turning year. Story-teller Jessie McMeekin and musician Dave Camlin are joined by singers Angie Power and Gilli Goodfellow to form an ensemble who frame Jessie’s powerful and inspiring stories with an enchanting sound world of rich harmony.
This show is for anyone who finds winter hard, and who finds the commercial juggernaut surrounding Christmas a bit overwhelming. It’s designed as an antidote to all that. re-connecting us to the rhythms of the natural world through stories and song, as we cycle through the darkness and back to the light once more. The show is aimed at grown-ups – although there’s nothing that’s unsuitable for children, it’s not designed for them. It will appeal most strongly to audiences who are already engaged with ideas around connecting to our environment and our communities.
