‘Nature Poetry, Then and Now’ Workshop from Penpal Productions
9th July 2022 3:30pm (Doors open at 3:00 pm)
Kirkgate Theatre
Following their afternoon performance, Penpal Productions will be hosting a workshop, limited spaces available.
Workshop: Nature Poetry Then and Now
In this informal workshop, we will have a look at Dorothy Wordsworth’s contributions to her more famous brother William’s poetry, using entries from her ‘Grasmere Journal’. We will also look closely at a short poem by Dorothy herself, and at a nature poem written by a contemporary poet. Inspired by these, you will then be guided to create a short poem or journal entry, using something from the natural environment around you. The workshop will conclude with a sharing of your work – of course, if you just wish to listen, rather than share what you have written, this is fine too.
