A Spoonful of Julie

18th April 2026 8:00pm (Doors open at 7:00 pm)

Kirkgate Centre

The Kirkgate Theatre will be alive with the sound of Julie Andrews. Join Nicola Mills and Maria King for a practically perfect evening of Julie faves. Singalong to The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins and listen how the ‘prodigy in pigtails’ became a Broadway star and the person we all still love today.

It’s a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious evening of music we all love. Wear your best Julie outfit if you’d like too for a practically perfect show, great for all the family.

Nicola Mills is originally from Oldham where she sang along to The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins many times as a child. She went onto study at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and then worked in opera houses around Europe for 10 years, to then busk on the streets, bringing opera to the people. Whilst living in New York she started to write A Spoonful of Julie because she LOVES Julie, and always will, and with Maria King on piano it’s a rip roaring show.

She’s performing around the UK and recently sang in Belgium, Crete, France and Germany and stepped in for Lesley Garrett at Bradford Live for the BBC singing with the Bantam of the Opera choir.
