Kirkgate Arts Out West

Kirkgate Arts Out West is the Rural Touring arm of Kirkgate Arts and Heritage serving the whole of Cumberland. It is supported by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation in partnership with neighbouring Rural Touring organisation, Penrith-based Highlights Rural Touring Scheme. We work with volunteers in village halls and other venues, including libraries, throughout Cumberland providing local audiences with high quality professional performances of music, drama and dance. Kirkgate Arts Out West is affiliated to the National Rural Touring Forum, which helps to ensure we have access to the very best national and international talent who are touring England to entertain people in tucked away places. Arts Out West across Cumbria Each year we stage around 40 performances in venues from Furness to the Solway, ranging from nationally recognised theatre companies to international musicians. As much a social occasion as a performance, a good night out is guaranteed and all on people’s doorsteps with no driving necessary! If you’d like to know more, including how your village hall or community centre could become part of the scheme, receiving training and support, please email us here at Arts Out West.  If you are artists and performers interested in touring to Kirkgate Arts Out West venues please get in touch and tell us about your Company and show. We have two Arts Out West seasons each year, from FEBRUARY to JUNE and SEPTEMBER to DECEMBER. When events are available to book they can be found here using the event filter Arts Out West.
