John Reynolds

West Cumbrian John worked as a journalist in the county for over 20
years before taking up the role of Head of Communications at Allerdale
Borough Council in 2000.

He left Allerdale to join Sellafield Ltd, initially as Head of Media
Relations and then subsequently as Head of Emergency Communications.
Prior to retirement in 2022, he worked on secondment from SL to the
Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, where he served as Head of
Communications.

He has been a volunteer supporter of the Kirkgate for several years and
assists with the centre’s communications and publicity activities.
Other voluntary roles include as a member of the Cumbria Adoption Panel
and Lake District National Park Authority archaeology team.
He can often be found walking or running in the fells and also includes
skiing, cricket, music, theatre, politics and literature amongst his
hobbies.

When he grows up, he wants to be lead guitarist with Deep Purple!
