Originally from Cumbria and now known by many on the Merseyside music scene, Sam Millne is making a name for himself with Sam Millne & the Virants.

With catchy riffs and memorable melodies, the band bring something for everyone to their shows where the audience know the songs by heart, whether they ’re fans of cheesy pop or indie rock.

Taking musical influence from the likes of The Kooks, The Wombats and rising bands such as The Royston Club and Red Rum Club, the group’s fans sing every word (almost!) to their tunes.

The year 2025 saw them release their debut EP, which racked up over 13,000 streams in just a few weeks, while also playing packed shows including a BBC Introducing showcase at The Cavern Club that sold out in 24 hours.

The debut EP, Early Days, is a showcase of their first tracks released as a group, ranging from carefree love songs to a political letter of frustration.
