Join us for a cooking demo with local chef Manon Plouffe from Wild Zucchinis to celebrate our Cooking at Kirkgate community cooking project.

We will bring to you a colourful food demonstration concocted and simmered down from recipes that have been created in our new kitchen in the past two years. Like a little trip down memory lane, we will bring back the past a little and tickle your tastebuds once more. We will aim to keep to the brief of: Affordable, Healthy, Easy and of course DELICIOUS tried and tested recipes and ideas to bring back to your kitchens.

Here’s some of the things we have planned:

  • Pickles in a flash
  • Curries
  • Soup
  • Whizzed up sweet treats
  • Canapés & amuse-bouches
  • Saucy tricks

And a few extra surprises…

The Cooking at Kirkgate project ran from April 2023 to March 2025 and was supported by the National Lottery Community Fund. The project funded the new kitchen at the Kirkgate Centre and the creation of our raised bed kitchen gardens, alongside low cost cooking and gardening workshops for schools and the local community. Many thanks to all the workshop leaders and workshop participants who took part in the project!

We are planning to continue running cooking workshops at Kirkgate Arts and Heritage, we'll be sharing more details soon. Watch this space!
