Explore and experiment with text, image and layout, creating your own zine (short for magazine).

Zines are a chosen medium of vibrant subcultures, with their first appearance as 1930s fanzines celebrating science fiction. In recent years, entire festivals and fairs are dedicated to these self-published works.

They’re all about DIY, use what you find, and say what you want to say. In this workshop, using the liberating title of dreams, we’re going to create free verse, using found snippets of text (or you can use your own poetry).

We’ll be experimenting with super-easy ways to print using affordable equipment – using stencils, letter blocks and tetrapack; and we’ll be creating powerful imagery using tracing and transfers.

No experience necessary. Plesae bring £3 to cover the cost of materials on the day.

A light lunch is included, but you are also welcome to bring your own. The workshop is from 10am until 3.30pm.
