Drama Taster Session for Adults with Emma Rydal

Develop your drama skills with actor Emma Rydal in this one- off 2 hour workshop. Emma’s session will be a fun mix of drama games, improvisation and some script work. We are running the workshop as a taster session, and are hoping to continue it as a regular class if there is interest.

Emma has been a professional actor for over twenty-five years working consistently in television, theatre and radio. She has appeared in many TV shows including Vera, Emmerdale, Midsommer Murders, Red Rose, Doctors, Coronation Street, and has been a regular in sitcoms and drama series including ‘Ruth Jones’s Sky One hit ‘Stella’ She featured in the Bafta winning Brit Flick ‘East is East’ playing Stella Moorhouse.

Emma is Cumbrian born and bred. She returned to have a family twenty years ago and set up her own theatre company ‘La’al Marra Productions’. She writes and produces her own plays and short films. Her first play, ‘True’ about a mother/daughter relationship won Best Production’ at Manchester 24.7 Theatre Festival. She then wrote ‘Soaked’ about the ‘Wine O Clock generation’. It toured with Arts Council Funding around Cumbria and beyond to packed audiences. She is reprising ‘Soaked’ this summer. Next year she will be producing her third play ‘Black Sails’.

Emma has run drama classes for many years. She started at Stagecoach, then ran her own drama clubs in her home village Brigham. Latterly has been teaching over 60’s at Keswick’s Theatre By The Lake.
