Heritage Talk: The Two Becks with Helen Johnston

The two becks in Cockermouth, Bitter Beck and Tom Rudd Beck have both played important roles in the development of the town. This talk will explore the history of the becks, and some of the industry, mills and buildings along their banks.

Helen Johnston is the Community Projects Officer at Kirkgate Arts and Heritage and an archaeologist who’s worked on sites on all periods across England.
