Issey Chivers is a London-based vocalist, composer and arranger whose sound moves effortlessly between jazz, folk, and the singer-songwriter tradition. Inspired by artists such as Fini Bearman, Lauren Kinsella, and Sara Dowling, she sings with a "tremendous range of colours", bringing sensitivity to detail and a quiet confidence to stories that feel honest and full of emotion.
Drawing on imagery of the sea, Issey's debut EP, Whispers of the Sea (August 2026), is a collection of original compositions and reimagined jazz standards that invites listeners to pause, breathe, and find beauty in life's shifting tides. The project explores themes of connection, the search for calm, and self-discovery in a fast-paced world.
Tom Harris is a northern pianist, songwriter and educator. His music aims to fight against the hostile world which we currently inhabit, whilst acknowledging the need for joy and comfort in the meantime. Tom iscurrently working toward a Masters in composition at the Royal Northern College of Music. He also performs and records regularly with artists across the UK including Olivia Cuttill, Marco Woolf, and Nishla Smith.
For this performance, Issey and Tom will play tunes from Issey’s recent EP, alongside new compositions by them both and some oftheirfavourite jazz standards — with plenty of playfulness and improvisation.
