Cockermouth’s ever-popular fashion and shopping experience is back …. And this time there’s a great opportunity to pick up a bargain in time for school prom season!
Cockfrock Spring 2025 takes place at the town’s Kirkgate Centre on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18.
The annual two-day sale of pre-loved, good quality ladies’ fashion has become established as a key part of the town’s calendar.
This year’s Cockfrock promises to be an even more attractive event for the younger generation, as Kirkgate Chief Executive Emma Heys explains: “Looking for a knockout prom dress at a knockdown price? Then this is the sale for you!
“We’re gearing up for prom season at this year’s spring sale so if you have a glamorous gown languishing in a wardrobe why not register to sell and find it a loving new home!
“We’re hoping that this focus on prom season will help many households enjoy that fun night in a much more cost-effective way, as new prom dresses can run into hundreds of pounds.
“However, May’s event is not all about prom night. We’ll be looking for new homes for good quality ladies’ fashions and accessories across the board, while making a little bit of welcome money for sellers.”
If you would like to register as a seller at Cockfrock, follow this link:
You don’t even need to come to the sale itself! Kirkgate takes care of all that for you. All you need to do is get your clothes labelled and ready on hangers and drop them off with your paperwork the Thursday evening (or Friday morning) before the sale opens.
Drop off times for sellers are Thursday, May 15, from 3.30pm to 5pm, or 7pm to 8pm, or Friday, May 16 between 9 and 11am.
To register as a seller costs just £2.
Emma continued: “Once you are registered as a seller you will be given a unique code (this will be the ‘seat number’ emailed to you).
“In this email you will also receive a link to download all information on labelling and delivering your goods, as well as collection of unsold items.
“Seventy per cent of the money received for an item goes to the seller and 30 per cent goes to Kirkgate Arts & Heritage but we would be over the moon if you’d like to donate all your proceeds to us! Simply let us know when dropping off your clothes.
“If you are unable to find the email confirmation, or have any queries about the process, please contact the admin office on 01900 829966.”
