An ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ Pink October line-up at Kirkgate
How much pink can one town take? Cockermouth’s entertainment venue the Kirkgate Centre has a run of absolutely fabulous girlie fashion, glamour and fun events lined up from Saturday, 7 October.
Cockermouth’s legendary pre-loved fashion shopping experience Cockfrock returns on Saturday and Sunday (7 and 8 October), followed by screenings of the hit Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling on Monday 9 and Wednesday 11 October.
Then, cranking up the frock gorgeousness, there’s Fever Drag Cabaret on Saturday, 21 October.
“We’re giving the mellow, earthy tones of autumn, a pink tinge this month,” said Kirkgate’s General Manager Emma Heys.
“Cockfrock’s back with the best Autumn/Winter season bargains in town. The Saturday evening opening over Cockfrock weekend is a great night out for groups of girlfriends or Mother-and-Daughter shopping bonding. We’re stocking up the bar with Prosecco!
“Then – the pinkest film ever, Barbie, comes to Cockermouth. It’s sunshine and satire all the way, in a clever and very funny take on Barbieworld and the human reality.
“But, really, the fashions will be off the scale when we welcome Fever back later in the month,” said Emma.
“After a smash hit success in June, the Drag Cabaret is returning to the Kirkgate for a Halloween spectacular, bringing some of the best drag talent from across the country all the way to Cockermouth.
“The hilarious hostess is punk rock sensation Ramona Love, with back-flipping pop princess Summer Salt, and three iconic special guests.”
