Cash in on that unused sporting equipment

It’s time for a workout revamp!  Have you got any old bits of sporting equipment or clothing taking up valuable space in the cupboard or wardrobe?

Then now’s the chance to cash in on them at the first ever Kirk Kit sale at Cockermouth’s Kirkgate Centre next month.

Kirk Kit represents the centre’s first sporting goods sale, based very much on the same formula that has made its Cockfrock event such a big annual hit.

Kirkgate General Manager Emma Heys said: “After the years of successful sales through Cockfrock, we wanted to offer a similar chance to sell unwanted sports and exercise equipment.

“It’s the same format as Cockfrock, but for clothing and equipment for all sports, outdoor activities, camping, water activities, cycling and more. There will be men’s and women’s equipment on sale, for all ages, adult and children.”

Kirk Kit takes place on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29 (10.30am until 4pm).

Entry to each session costs £2 (which includes automatic raffle entry).

Emma added: “There are also still opportunities for would-be sellers to grab one of the available sales slots. All you need to do to start the ball rolling is register as a seller. You will then be sent a link where you can download your seller instructions, labels and catalogue sheet.

“Once you have all your items labelled and listed, they can then be dropped off before the sale (details on the instructions) and we do the rest!

“Sellers receive 70 per cent of the item price, with 30 per cent going to Kirkgate Arts and Heritage. If you wish to, you can donate 100 per cent of the takings to Kirkgate Arts, just let us know when you come to drop off your items.

“It’s just £3 to register for a seller code. Each seller code is allocated 20 smaller items (such as sports clothing, pair of trainers, bag of golf balls, badminton racket) and four larger items (such as bicycle, rowing machine, skis).

“If you have a lot of items to sell you are welcome to register more than once and we do all the selling on the day. If you would like to come to the sale it’s £2 for each day, which includes entry to a prize draw. Sellers do not need to come to the sale, we do that bit for you.

“We’re hoping that Kirk Kit will prove as popular with the sporting community as Cockfrock has with the fashionistas!”
